We are located in Masury, Ohio. We are approximately one hour NW of
Pittsburgh International Airport and one hour and ten minutes S of
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. My husband Steve and I share our
lives and home with Nora and Galax. Our house would not a home without
them. We have always loved the Doberman for many reasons. They are
easily maintained with their short coat. They are natural protectors and a
family dog. They are a great visual deterrent and very intelligent.
We love the Imports. We were so impressed on how different they looked
from the American Dobes. The Doberman originated in Europe and they
breed to a different standard than here in the States. They must be tested
for temperament and have working titles and confirmations titles before
they are given a license to breed unlike the AKC where any two dogs can
be mated even in puppy mills and the puppies sold with AKC papers. The
Europeans have a different standard than here in the States for breeding
and health testing. They breed for health- temperament and longevity for a
better quality of Doberman.
Our family has had this wonderful breed for years. We purchased our first
American Doberman (Angel) in 1977. We decided in 2006 to purchase
Galax after our beloved Grant passed on. We then purchased Nora three
months later after we decided to breed. I had whelped two litters of
American dobes years ago. I love to watch them grow. They all have
different little personalities. We decided to turn our formal dining room into
a nursery once in awhile. For the first three weeks I do not sleep much
checking on them constantly and sleeping with a baby monitor. It is hard
work as the pups get older the work increases. I spend most of my days
and evenings with the puppies once they arrive. Life as we know it ceases
to exist for at least eight weeks. You watch how she loves to snuggle with
them. How she is so protective of them. When they get older and they play
a little to hard with each other she breaks it up like all moms. We keep in
contact with our puppies owners. They email us updates along with photos.
We screen everyone and have refused to sell to some in the best interest of
our pups. It is the important to us for them to go to good homes. We want
them to have a good life. We require you fill out a puppy application and
talk with me about being considered for one of our pups. We want them to
be a full member of your family.
They say that 75% of all people who have a litter never do it again because
of the work and the expense. You have to love it as I do.
To the right behind me is a Doe and to the left behind
my husband (Steve) are her two yearlings. You can
hardly see them in the photo. They did not seem to
mind that we were there taking photos. They stayed
the entire time we were there.
